As Alexander (Greece), defeat every known player by 350 BC.

Notes[]

Every other player must be wiped out; a conquest victory is not enough.

Strategy[]

Strategy 1:

On a duel archipelago map, with every victory condition except domination on, begin by wonder racing for the great library and great lighthouse. This will typically stall the AI deploying settlers if you are able to achieve these. From here, build or buy 2 triremes. Your next tech goals once you have writing and sailing are Archery and Mathematics. Take Optics as your free tech from the Great Library. Optionally take Honor as your first social policy for the culture reward but soon after take Liberty and proceed toward your free settler. This settler will allow you to rest and resupply during your attack. You will also need to build an Archer and a Catapult. Finally, progress toward Construction for the Terracotta Army and Bronze Working for the Statue of Zeus. You will not need to wait for the Statue of Zeus to finish building and will act shortly before the Terracotta Army is finished. The Terracotta Army's purpose is power projection, to put the AI into a diplomatic and strategic mode in response to you having more than half the global army level, you will only use these units if your first wave attack fails and these wonders can be safely built in the capital. Raid barbarian camps hoping to find ancient ruins that turn your warrior into a Hoplite or build a Hoplite. Do not bother with Companion Cavalry unless you can see the AI has focused on units, their city will quickly fall. Move your units about to be copied into position before the Terracotta Army is complete so that you may begin your attack once this is done and ensure your 2nd city is near. If all has gone according to plan so far, the AI will just now be moving settlers into the water. Regardless when the AI deploys settlers, declare war at this point. It is useful to keep a trireme near the AI city to check for this cue. Once war is declared, prioritize attacking settlers with your triremes and any range units that have land to stand on. Once these are destroyed and the AI has a single city, next move your starter catapult and starter archer or composite bowman into the water next to the AI capital and place triremes over these units, so the only units the AI may attack are your triremes. Once you have landed your range units and have taken care of any enemy units, begin firing onto the capital with your archer and catapult, attack the city with your triremes (they have served their purpose and you will likely be able to get bonus gold), move your Hoplite in, and start sending all your Terracotta Army units to the capital as well. The capital city will very likely fall to the first wave, but if it does not your 2nd wave will arrive in time to attack a dying city, and if they do not you will have the same army but with a Statue of Zeus bonus almost immediately. You should be able to do all this by a little after 1000 BC with this strategy.

Strategy 2:

Similarly to Strategy 1, start a game as Alexander (Greece) against a single non-aggressive AI (such as Morocco) on a Duel map (I used Pangaea) in the Ancient Era, Standard speed. Focus on Honor and military technology (Archery and Mathematics). Build up a military and demand tribute and/or seize workers from city-states. Do not worry about wonders, settlers, or civilian infrastructure. When you find the AI, scout their position to and kill their settlers if possible. Charge their cities with a few archers, hoplites, and catapults. Destroy everything in your path and make Alexander proud. Keep the game going until every one of their cities and units is destroyed. Good luck and happy hunting! (strategy credit to Southpaw).
